The Fitness and Conditioning Course is an outdoor Co-Ed group exercise class. The course uses various forms of exercise to get you in top shape. We focus mainly on functional exercise rather than isolation exercise because we feel we are preparing you to better handle the race of life. That race includes carrying groceries, picking up your 5 year-old in the middle of the night and carrying them back to bed, dodging the dog as you come into the yard, playing tennis, playing golf, and whatever else life can throw at you.
However, make no mistake, this course will also prepare you for the additional rigors associated with focused training for competition in activities such as triathlons, martial arts, and other competitive sporting events. It will also prepare you for entrance into law enforcement academies and military service.
Each workout is typically different than the last, but you can expect combinations that include running, calisthenics, plyometrics, and resistance training. You will also experience unique individual and team challenges. From experience, we can say you will hate some workouts, and you will love others. But, as you experience and complete the course, you will see results, you will learn what camraderie means, you will make new friends, and you will be able to share your experiences for a lifetime.
It is an all-weather course. That means there will be an instructor on-site in all weather conditions, with the exception of dangerous conditions such as during a tornado, active lightning within 5 miles, etc. Otherwise we will exercise in the rain, snow, cold, heat, and the like.
The only requirements to participate in the course are desire, and dogged determination. However, to at least have a starting point, we recommend you be able to complete a one-mile walk/run in about 12 minutes.
We meet at various sites throughout Dripping Springs, TX. Our current meeting place is The Sports Park. (Google map)
